THE VEGETARIAN  Book  Jacket  Design

This project reimagines the book cover for The Vegetarian through the visual language of meat packaging. Inspired by the novel’s themes of bodily control, transformation, and quiet rebellion, I intentionally created a direct contradiction between the title and the packaging, turning the book into a tray of raw meat to evoke irony.
The design references supermarket food packaging, organic textures, and processed consumption culture to reflect the protagonist’s gradual rejection of societal expectations and her symbolic shift toward nature. By framing the body as something consumable, the project also questions how bodies, especially women’s bodies, are culturally controlled, categorized, and consumed.
